Weaving is a way of life for Afghans, much of the weaving being done in homes and villages. The types of designs are very closely connected to the eventful historical and geographical aspects of Afghanistan and its people.
The Turkomen people of Afghanistan who herd their flocks of sheep and goats across the rolling slopes of central Asia make many of the Afghan rugs. Afghan Fine Tribal
Fine Afghan Khan Rugs are beautiful, robust and very fine quality. These rugs are hand-knotted from high-quality new wool and are renowned in the trade for their lustrous and hard-wearing properties.
The colours used from this part of the world are mostly a strong wine red with blue with some white wool incorporated.

Afghan Bokhara
Rich dark reds with various designs, the most famous being the Elephant foot, Bokhara, which originated in the Northern provinces of Afghanistan.
This is a very popular design that comes from middle-east, it’s a classic example of Afghan handmade rug designs.
