Soho Copper
Madison Avenue runs between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Since the Twenties, it has been the center of the American advertising industry. The Madison Men were the golden boys of the Sixties, who ‘dreamed up’ the images of the iconic brands of the USA. Inspired by this theme, De Poortere has created a new collection of ‘Vintage Sixties’ rugs. A mix of straight and broken lines, of dull and shining yarns, of smooth and ragged pencil strokes.
Spring Moss
The Fading World rug collection utilises a more straightforward, plain design that really highlights the faded attributes, giving any room an airy and vibrant ambience. The central pattern or medallion of this rug is an ancient classic.
Square Tabriz 293cm x 294cm
Collection of unique Vintage faded Round and Square Rugs – Rugs produced in the region of Persia span across a range of cultures and regions including parts of Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. Many of the rarest and highest quality carpets have been sold from this region. Some Persian rugs carry geometric patterns and bolder colors, all-over lattice work often with a folklore feel while others have a central medallion with a floral border. The range of styles and patterns throughout the centuries woven in Iran was heavily influenced by the era of rule in which the particular region was under, which is a unique characteristic as weavers in some regions are of multiple ethnicities.
Quite a rare finds are these round and square Persian vintages & faded rugs

If Raoul Dufy or Henri Matisse had met Keith Haring for a session on Urban Art, this could well have sprouted from their collective imagination.

Ushak is derived from the rug designs made by the Turkish tribe of the same name, they were used a lot in mosques and churches. Faded colours have been used for this design, as in the later, twentieth century versions.
