Many of the rarest and highest quality carpets have been sold from this region. Some Persian rugs carry geometric patterns and bolder colors, all-over lattice work often with a folklore feel while others have a central medallion with a floral border. The range of styles and patterns throughout the centuries woven in Iran was heavily influenced by the era of rule in which the particular region was under, which is a unique characteristic as weavers in some regions are of multiple ethnicities.
