The Design Story
Rich dark red Afghan Hall Runners with various designs, These rugs and runners are renowned throughout the world today both for colour and durability. Weaving is a way of life for Afghans, much of the weaving being done in homes and villages. The types of designs are very closely connected to the eventful historical and geographical aspects of Afghanistan and its people.
The Turkomen people of Afghanistan who herd their flocks of sheep and goats across the rolling slopes of central Asia make many of the Afghan rugs. We stock an extensive range of handmade Afghan rugs and a few examples of these can be seen on our website but to really appreciate the diverse selection please visit us in-store.
