Louis De Poortere Rugs

Louis de Poortere Vintage Rugs range is a line of designer rugs boasting a unique vintage and slightly worn look. These rugs are famed for their chic distressed look; a technique that allows the designs to incorporate an eclectic mix of rich colors into the fabric without appearing garish.

Louis de Poortere is committed to protecting the environment for future generations and so they have taken the step to craft a collection that’s more sustainable and which sets them on a path to circularity. With Ecorugs, the new Rug Collection 2024 moves to a mono-material polyester construction. The move lets them guarantee that their rugs are not only high quality but also fully recyclable. It’s a bold new generation of environment-friendly rugs that will help to preserve our planet while upholding the philosophy of creating beautiful rugs that bring the utmost pleasure.

Every part of Ecorugs is made from polyester. Creating a 100% mono-material construction eliminates the need to separate materials and makes it easier to recycle Ecorugs at the end of their life.

7-8-2 Red

A classic Afghan Tribal & Geometric design is this legendary 782-Hadschlu which is re-edited in its flatweave, distressed version.

Abyss Blue

A new design for the Mad Men collection. It shows a surface of cracked ice, as on the ice rink of Rockefeller Square.

It also represents the world below the surface, the deep blue of the abyss, the darkness of the mineshaft with the lode of gold at the bottom, or the far corners of a pinewood forest.

Agha Old Gold

Amsterdam Orange Cut

Inspired by aerial views, this unique design combines a mysterious aesthetic with transparency, evoking the spellbinding atmosphere of old maps. Cities stands out for its graphic character, going beyond the simple informative aspect to offer an arty visual experience. Black Rabat

A classic Moroccan Kilim nomad pattern is highlighted by the use of special yarns, space-dyed affects add countless colour nuances and a slightly twisted cream gives extra body and contrast to the pattern.

Black Water 9200

The spirits of the ancestors are supposed to live in the trunk of these gigantic trees. Baobab takes the African molded forms of the celebrated tree. The bewitchment of its forms makes it possible to hide the very spirit of a design made of small bark on a trunk whose roots perpetuate African magic.

Blue Knight

The Fading World rug collection utilises a more straightforward, plain design that really highlights the faded attributes, giving any room an airy and vibrant ambience. The central pattern or medallion of this rug is an ancient classic.

Bronx Azurite

Madison Avenue runs between Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Since the Twenties, it has been the center of the American advertising industry. The Madison Men were the golden boys of the Sixties, who ‘dreamed up’ the images of the iconic brands of the USA. Inspired by this theme, De Poortere has created a new collection of ‘Vintage Sixties’ rugs. A mix of straight and broken lines, of dull and shining yarns, of smooth and ragged pencil strokes.

Camel Blue 9196

The module design is inspired by this architectural definition found in symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes. One can only think of the famous movement initiated by Walter Gropius at the beginning of the 1930s. The radically of the forms is underlined by a mixture of colours and warm materials.

Carpe Deim

Let yourself be seduced by the Shapes design, with its abstract interlocking forms. To add depth and visual interest, material effects are incorporated into the rug. These textured effects give a tactile feel and create subtle plays of light that highlight the abstract shapes. The colors used are carefully selected to create visual crossovers. When these colors meet, they blend together to create new hues and bring an extra visual dynamic to the whole.
